In June 2024, one of our experienced Nepali interpreters in Brazil supported a field-based knowledge exchange under the Dedicated Grant Mechanism (DGM). The assignment involved a delegation of more than 15 Nepali participants engaging with indigenous communities in Brazil across multiple field visits and stakeholder meetings.
Our interpreter provided Nepali–Portuguese relay interpretation services throughout the program, facilitating communication between Nepali delegates and Brazilian indigenous communities in Minas Gerais, Brazil. The multilingual setup required coordinated relay interpretation to ensure accurate and real-time communication between Nepali and Portuguese speakers.
The assignment included visits to multiple indigenous communities, where discussions focused on:
⦁ Indigenous rights and community governance
⦁ Sustainable land use and natural resource management
⦁ Environmental challenges such as water scarcity and preservation of indigenous grasslands
In addition to formal discussions, the interpreter also supported cultural exchange sessions, including the translation of local folk songs performed by indigenous community members.
This assignment demonstrates our capability in field interpretation services, relay interpretation (Nepali–Portuguese), and international development projects involving indigenous communities, particularly in complex multilingual and outdoor environments.
